Done with the break

By Ramakrishna Podila
Oof...that was a pain in disguise. I mean, attending the American Physical Society March meeting to present my work on ZnO. It took me hours, days and weeks to put together that ppt. It was so exhausting!!! But I am happy I presented it well. After I was done with the presentation, a professor walked up to me and asked if he could collaborate!! What else do you need? My advisor is looking to publish the work in Nature. Yet I am not happy. I am scared, intimidated and worried. Because, your every single move will be noticed under a magnifying glass when you aim to go big!! That certainly makes me feel uncomfortable. I have not even told many people how my presentation went, only because this fear was sitting at the bottom of my heart. Btw I am hearing Enya and it feels so peaceful...try it

So that fear apart, I am back to work as usual. I ended up working more than the usual in the Spring Break. I am happy to be back with the classes. I am sure that is going to reduce my work load. My busy schdule last week kept me away from the gym. I hate this 'elastic' aspect of my body. I put on weight just in a week. I got to go back. Aiming for a 30 day reduction. Hoping for a 0.3 pound reduction a day, 9 pounds in all.

It was long since I wrote the blog and here is what I was trying to write few days back....

You know what people. I started to format my laptop. I was tired of Vista. I wanted to load XP. So I started out with XP SP2. Little did I know, that I had to integrate SATA drivers with SP2. The thing did not recognize my HD. So I borrowed a copy of XP SP3 image and then tried to start formatting. The system would not load at all. After an incessant struggle for 48 hrs, I found out that the damn CD driver was not working. Now that was frustrating.

I had to learn how to make bootable Pen drive. Thanks to google. I installed XP SP3 using a USB!!! Hurray....That line took me 20 odd hrs. Now the bigger problem was to find drivers for this. I had to find vista drivers and edit the ini files. Thanks to google again to make them workable on XP. At last, thank god...I have finished doing all the stuff and won the war. I down graded to XP.

While installing XP, I think microsoft should change this line from

XP is not only better than its previous windows version but also lets you handle.... to

XP is not only better than its previous windows versions but later also proved itself to be much more efficient
